Notes On Shopping

As always, these shopping items only cover what we will be using in the recipes. These recipes are also written for 2 large or 3 medium servings so you may need to pick up more items, but all the recipes are scalable.

For this week there is not too much to look out for when shopping. The biggest thing is going to be the bread. When we say high quality bread what we mean is something baked fresh and preferably local. Most local bakeries will make a sourdough loaf, but also quite a few store chains make some quality bread. The Whole Foods in our area always has a nice fresh sourdough, but even in our smaller city we have 3 bakeries that make some very fine bread.

For the masa harina your local Mexican grocery store will have some but even your big box stores carry it nowadays. Check down the ethnic isles and we are sure you will find it. It is like flour, keep it sealed and it will last years.
